Henna is wonderful, but this may not be the best brand.

I have used henna on my hair for a while, and I love the results. I usually use other brands, but have bought two different shades of Rainbow Henna, and I am not as pleased with the results of this brand as I was with others. The preparation and application is more messy and more complicated than other brands. This Henna seems much harsher than other brands, and the color is not as natural. The conditioning is also not as intense. I do not recommend this brand. As far as hair color, it is above average, but comparing it to other Henna products, it is clearly inferior.

This is a great product. The color is fabulous. I've been using off the shelf products for years and my hair is getting very dry. I decided to try to naturally cover the grey and this product does it. Nice shiny sherry color. It is very messy to apply. Another set of hands is a good idea. The enclosed pamphlet suggests adding apple cider vinegar to help cover grey and that works. It also suggests adding 2-4 tablespoons of olive oil to condition and help rinse the henna out. Do that. I also read somewhere that a user made a tub of water and swished her head around in it to rinse the henna out. That works too. All in all a great product, wonderful shine and soft hair. I will never go back to chemical, off the shelf products again.

Although a bit messy, I love the conditioning and shine that henna brings. This color, Light Red, gave my dark blond with red highlights hair a definite light coppery tone. I was pleased that it did not come out orange, as can happen with henna. Best advice, though--get a partner!
